Each book should have more in depth character lore that will contain information that pertains to the books and the storyline including spoilers of the main story.

Roger Toradashi Is the main character in Curved Sword Man, he is a rather carefree individual but has a strong sense of duty when the time comes. His life long dream is to join the Sword Guild as a Town Defender, his only problem? He didn't have a signature blade, a necessary item to become a town defender. He could have stayed and worked as a guard at a Guild Base but he decided to go on his own. After a run in with a cart man being robbed he gained a signature blade, and after an accident that caused thew blade to become curved he now wanders from town to town fighting monsters. Instead of praise people despise him for 'stealing the Defenders job' leading to a lot of ridicule from people. The first volume picks up at this point when he runs into a mysterious character at a tavern... Jung Who Wa.
Not much is known about Jung Who Wa as he is part of a secluded religious indigenous group known as the Society of Masks. This group believes in the deity Tetsuko who granted them masks fashioned after his own after they were created. The masks are purely traditional and some groups have gone away from them in terms of becoming more 'mainstream.' Jung carries an extremely long and large blade that took him 8 years of continuous training to master and only he can wield it. The blade is often thought to be modeled after the one Tetsuko is represented to have, he is dedicated entirely to his religion and his way of life as an assassin, bounty hunter and mercenary. He has been assigned to kill seventy targets, he has killed seventy, who is the seventy first????

Tami Toradashi is Roger Toradashi's sister, she is the absolute opposite of her brother. She loves spending money on fancy and unique things but then finds she has no money for necessities (such as fixing her door!) She is very dedicated to people and expects them to act the same to her. Her bond with Roger was extremely strong but then he decided to leave for the Sword Guild to train, he planned to leave at night so Tami wouldn't see but she did. She felt utterly betrayed and began to vow vengeance on Roger for what, in her mind, was an unforgivable act. her vengeance plan started small.. but progressively grew to be more sinister. She also owns a blade that has a mysterious ability and must have been very expensive to forge (to Tami's dismay I'm sure).
Sam Austins is known more popularly as 'head poppin' Sam Austins for his ability to make peoples heads explode in a whim when he points at them and demands they perish. His past is full of bloodshed and calamity and he loves killing and death which is why he became an assassin. Sam Austins was not born in Palos but immigrated over from the 'Federation States' a group of micronations that have a pact to assist each other. His first attempts as an assassin were failures as he was clumsy and just awful at his job. He then had the opportunity to join a group that offered a power beyond all others, the ability to take the powers of a mystical being called Narklark. After a tragic event happened he was back on his own, but now he had the power to do whatever he wanted! His path was now set to become a famous assassin, but the events from his past made him an enemy of the state. He now wanders around and fights for the highest bidder.

Lance Ricardo was born poor in Palos City, the capital of Palos but he was determined to make something of himself and not stay in poverty. He had two daggers forged for himself and then he set off for the Sword Guild, he had a smart mind for the way things work so he joined the Guild as an administrator not as a Town Defender or a soldier. Lance was in the same class as Roger and Leon and the three became friends, Roger excelled in the fighting but Lance excelled in administration and he quickly went up the ranks. he very quickly gained his own Guild base at the age of 19, an age that surprised everyone on the Guild Board. His base is located in the North Forest and he sends a great amount of his payment to his family in Palos City.
Ru and Remus Reeves are identical twin assassins. Their birth was signaled by a flash of light, meaning their twin synergy was stronger than most. Their parents were happy with this as this was a rare occurrence. They decided to use these powers to become assassins as their synergy trait is rapid healing. They had some mainstream success but it all crashed down when they missed a target at point blank range. They were cast out of the community and embarrassed, alone and distraught they searched desperately for a job. They became wheat farmers where they gained their signature twin sickle scythe. Tami found them and offered them a job working for her, they were houseworkers for her until she found a use for their more... violent skills.

Leon Fisher comes from a laidback village dedicated to fishing called Aretis. This laid back lifestyle is very prevalent in his life even if he doesn't intend it earning him the name "late Leon" in his Sword Guild training days due to how late he was. He was in the same class as Roger and Lance and was able to graduate along with Lance because of him having a signature blade. He was assigned to Rogers hometown of Takashi Village, he was able to adjust to the different lifestyle and is dedicated to defending the village from any monster that threatens it. Him Roger and Lance maintain a close friendship and constantly send letters. His signature blade is a fishhook on the end of a long blade which he uses with deadly precision against enemies.
